Introduction to Contemplative Photography

Have you ever found yourself in a moment when you were suddenly stopped in your tracks, as if time stood still, and a brief but profound flash of perception broke through the ordinary confines of daily experience? In that fleeting instant, did you catch sight of something so captivating that it took your breath away, leaving you momentarily speechless? Perhaps you were pleasantly surprised to discover that the source of this unexpected beauty was simply the warm afternoon light gently spilling through your kitchen window, or maybe it was a vibrant flower bravely emerging from a narrow crack in the unforgiving asphalt. By sharpening your visual awareness and adopting a more contemplative approach to seeing the world as it truly is, you can greatly enhance your photography skills.

Each week, we will delve into a different aspect of visual perception, exploring subjects such as color, texture, form, light, and spatial relationships to deepen our understanding and appreciation of our surroundings.

This class is great for photographers, artists at heart, or the curious wanting to explore the symbiotic relationship between contemplative practice and photography.  You can use whatever camera that is available to you, including your cell phone.
