The Practice of Gratitude

Photographing What We Value:  A Contemplative Photography Course

sawtooth.org

We do not photograph gratitude to convince ourselves that everything is fine. We photograph gratitude to learn to see more truthfully and more kindly. What we practice noticing, we strengthen. Over time, a daily gratitude image becomes a way of laying down a new path in the mind and heart—a path that does not deny difficulty, but refuses to let difficulty be the only thing we see.  Photography here is not about making beautiful pictures. It is about showing up, noticing, and saying thank you with our attention.
